The traditional hole in the corner makes it ideal for keychains and other hanging items. Retrieved March 12, 2016. You will have to buy more than one Tile if you plan to track multiple things.

TrackR also lets you know how close you are to your lost keys, and more than one phone can ring and track them. Using the transmitter that you get in the package you can track the colored receivers by long pressing the same colored button on the transmitter. Even after it bites the dust, you can get a brand new one for 50 percent off using.

At first, I was so happy with this product, helping me find misplaced keys and cell phone in my family's busy home. However, the Tiles rapidly began to be less effective. Sometimes pressing the Tiles would not make the phone ring, even when they were only a foot or two away. Now all four Tiles are completely useless and do not work, even though I have had them for just 3 months. Unfairly, this is past the time allowed in the company's return policy. Really liked the Tiles initially but expected them to last longer than this. This would've been a five star product if only they'd make it with a replaceable battery. I bought a few of these and love them, but one just ran out of battery so I took it apart. I was pleasantly surprised to find a CR2032 button cell, I buy my coin batteries in bulk from Amazon. No soldering was involved. The speaker is located to the right of the key ring hole, if the Tile's speaker fails to work after taking it apart just push in on the speaker side. I'm going to purchase one of those leather cases so I won't need to seal the Tile completely. I only used a very small dab of glue on each corner so it'll be easier do open up again for next time. As a college student who keeps most of their valuables on a lanyard, having some way to locate all of those valuables is important. Last October, I lost the keys to my dorm, and after forking over an absurd amount of money for a set of replacement keys, I swore that I would do whatever I could in my power to prevent another loss like that from occurring again. According to countless reviews online, the Tile was the best option for keeping track of my lanyard. At first, it went well; I didn't really lose my keys so I'd use the tile a few times a month to make sure that everything was in working order. And it was spotty; sometimes, when the tile was right next to me, it'd take minutes for the app to locate the tile and ring. But, I brushed it off, because it would work eventually. That was until I had actually lost my keys and my lanyard. I spent a whole day running around looking for them, but to no avail. According to the Tile App, there were a few thousand Tile users around, able to find my device if they stumbled near it. In the end, I found my device I had left it with a friend and went to go pick it up. Afterwards, I had the Tile in hand and I wanted to know if it was actually working properly. I set the Tile to ring from my phone, and nothing. No sound at all. To clarify, the Tile claims it has a lifespan of 12 months, give or take a few. But, it's been only 4 months and the Tile is having problems. I'm disappointed with the product due to its spotty reliability, and I don't plan on buying from Tile again. These things are garbage. I put these on some valuable items including the carrying case for some expensive camera equipment. After working correctly or at least seeming to for a few months I received a warning notice that several of my items--including the camera gear--had moved while I was away on a business trip. Nobody had access to my home so I feared the worst--a break in at my house while I was gone! I returned home from my trip to to find my items still at home right where I left them... This happened several times, each time inducing panic but also each time causing me to trust the TILE product less and less. These things have proven themselves to be little more than a very expensive novelty and should be avoided unless you like throwing cash down the toilet. I was hoping to use this to keep track of my cat in my relatively small yard. He likes to climb under bushes and it's hard to find him. This thing however is completely useless and un reliable. It says tile out of range when in fact the tile is literally laying on top of the device. I would have better odds of finding my stuff blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back then by using this thing. Photos attached to give you an idea just how awful it is. All 3 devices say the tile is out of range. As a matter of fact the only device I was able to get this to work with was my iPhone 7 plus.

The Classic, on the other hand, is a bit smaller and a features a 90-decibel alarm. It's one of the better lost-and-found device we've tested so far, but it does have some some drawbacks. Buy one now from:. The rechargeable battery lasts up to three months on a single charge and will text you when the battery is running low. Now all four Tiles are completely useless and do not work, even though I have had them for just 3 months. Fire up your iPhone and the Tile app, then listen for the Bluetooth-activated sing-song or check the on-screen map for Tile's last known location.
